The 2014 Wings of Hope Trailblazer Trot (5K and 10K, Chip Timed, walk/jog/run event for humans, not horses!) is being held at Millstone Farm, a private farm in Quinton, Va., that is open to the public only for this event. The 5K and 10K courses wind through easy to navigate wooded trails, fields, a little pavement, and include a covered bridge. Participants may walk, jog or run. Detailed information and directions will be emailed to all participants upon registration.
The Wings of Hope Ranch 5K and 10K Trailblazer Trot is being held at Millstone Farm, a private farm located at 10600 Cosby Mill Road, Quinton, Va., that is open to the public only for this event. Google Maps does not give great directions so once you exit off of Route 64, there will be good signs to direct you the rest of the way to the race location.
The 5K and 10K courses are mostly on cleared and easy to navigate trails, with a couple segments on pavement. There is one short section, about 2 tenths of a mile that is uphill, on a trail and has some tree roots and things to navigate. The trail winds through the woods, across a covered bridge, around beautifully manicured ponds, statues, and fields. Most parts of the trail are wide enough to allow passing as well as two participants to walk side by side. Course Marshalls will be out along to course if anyone needs assistance. Participants may walk, jog or run. The 5K course is doubled to make the 10K course so you will know your "split" time half way through the 10K.
All proceeds from this event go to Wings of Hope Ranch, a nonprofit 501c3 in Montpelier, VA that rescues and rehabilitates horses to provide a free ministry to children facing conflicts or challenges. You can find out more about Wings of Hope Ranch at www.wingsofhoperanch.org
Costume Contest: There will be prizes for top two best angel, cowboy and Western costumes, given away at the awards ceremony at 11:15 am.

Race day On Site registration and Packet Pick up:
7:00 am – 8:30 for 10K and
7:00 am - 10:00 am for 5K
10K race begins at: 9:00 am
5K race begins at: 10:30 am
Awards: 11:15 for both 10K and 5K
Special Guests: Live music, “bull” rides and ministry provided by Gerald Castlebury with Cross Branded Cowboy Church, vendor and sponsor booths, horses and much more!
All Participants: All participants receive a finisher's medal.
T-Shirts: If you register by May 10, 2014 you will to receive a commemorative race t-shirt. If you missed this deadline, no worries, you are still in for the time of your life running the most breathtaking course ever.

5k = $35

Race Day Registration:
5k = $40: Registration ends at 10AM
10K = $45: Registration ends at 8:30AM

NOTE: Online Registration Closes on Thursday May 29th and Mailed Registrations must be received by 4 pm May, 29th, 2014
Parking: Available at the race site. You will be directed to parking areas.
Restrooms: There will be restrooms and port-a-potties on site, arrive early to make sure you don't get stuck in line before race time
